Master’s in Computer Science from a different educational background?

I’m halfway through a Psychology degree, which I am really interested and involved in. I know Psych. degrees are a dime a dozen, and I know that the job prospects with only a Bachelors aren’t great within the field, but I feel that this degree will be fundamentally applicable to everything I do, personally and professionally.

I don’t know yet if I really want to go into counseling of any type, or the typical Psych. grad school route. In researching career ideas, I’ve seen how much the Computer/IT industry is going to continue to be a hotbed of opportunity and development.

Finally, as the title asks, would it be possible, and wise, to look into doing a master’s degree in some area of computer science or IT along with my background in Psychology?

Honestly, career options seem dim right now in many sectors. There’s been so much “educational inflation.” I’m trying to get the best, well-rounded education I can, while being conscious of the future of the job market and economy. Thanks.

Computer Science has always been a good choice, and always will be. However, don’t expect to be paid based on your education until you have quite a few years of practical, real world experience. But once you do get that experience, with a fat Master’s under your belt, your opportunities should be limitless.
