low motivation?

ok here’s the problem. I basicly have low motivation and no direction. I’ve been in and out of comm college since 2001 and still havent found out what I want to do. I have a lot of interests such as writing, biology, psychology and history. I know that having a degree means more money but I still havent found my direction. Sometimes I get frustrated with the time it is taking, other times I wonder if what I picked is really what I want to do. any advice

Try concentrating more on your general classes since your interests align up with those, and try some upper division classes of the subjects you are interested in to see if you would really like to have more of those. If there are a couple areas that you really like double major. That way when you finish you will have a degree.

I know it’s hard trying to figure out what you want to do, but pace yourself. You do not have to have all your answers right away. Most of my classmates range in age from 26 to in their 40s, so they’ve all been in the same boat you are in.

Good luck!

I have had the exact same problem. But taking it from my experience, I went to talk to a guidance counselor in which they administered an instructional test where it allowed me to see which subjects I seemed more interested and how high or low I scored in each criteria. But what helped me the most was actually talking to someone and getting my head clear of my surroundings because I put too much importance in little things. But whatever is going to make you happy as a person is the thing that you should aim for. No matter the pay, the benefits, or anything behind it, because even if you want to aim for a job with great pay, and everything else and you hate it, its going to be dreadful. So do something that makes you happy. I really hope this helps to some degree.

Yes. Get out of your head and into yourt heart and you will FEEL your way into the right direction for you. Be patient. It’s OK not to know. It will come.

Be happy.

Be free.

Do the little things that bring you joy IN THE MOMENT.

That will lead you.

That will lead you.

Trying to figure it out with your mind will make you crazy or depressed.
