Low income or parent employee?

which do you think will get someone into a college? Low income family (< $30K per year) or a parent who works at the school. If you don't know, then which do you think sounds more fair?

Neither of these things will get you into college. It could help you get financial aid. Some schools will offer a discount of tuition to school employees. But if your family is making less than 30,000 a year than you should be eligable for a lot of financial aid. What will get you into college are your grades, extracurriculars, SAT scores, and volunteer work.

I don’t think either one of those things would take precedence over their ACT or SAT scores. But if given the choice I would use the low income route.

How much either of these things matters depends a lot on the school. Some places will not take either into account at all.
