Looking for a good college located in Ohio or in the surrounding states.?

I’m only in high school, but i’m planning my future. I’m going to finish my first year of college while i’m in high school (post-secondary) at Tri-C (Cuyahoga Community College). So when i graduate, i will be 17 in my second year of college. Then i’m thinking of doing another year at CSU (Cleveland State University) or Case Western. Then after that year i’m going to another college, but i don’t know which one to choose. I’m either going into financing or nuclear engineering (i know big difference). HELP! !

Why are you only doing one year at CSU or CWRU? CWRU has a great engineering program and a good business school. You might consider staying there for your bachelor’s degree.

Otherwise, I would wait until you decide what your major will be and then base the decision on that. Ohio has many excellent universities – public and private. But the decision on where to go would require more information than you’ve given. For example, what do you plan to study? Do you intend to be involved in the Greek System? Do you want to participate in sports? How are you financing your education?

The right school depends on many factors. Kenyon and Kent State are both good schools, but not for the same reasons and their student bodies are very different. Denison and Miami have active greek systems, Oberlin doesn’t. OU’s journalism program is good and Ohio Northern is known for its pharmacy school.

Try looking at state universities in major cities rather than private universities (the latter of which are typically $35k and up for tuition). What about University of Pittsburgh, University of Louisville (not that big a city, however), U of Massachusetts Boston, or University of Illinois Chicago? Keep in mind however that housing in bigger cities can be very expensive.
