Is there much of a demand for Statisticians with a mechanical background?
ok so I’m a first semester sr. in a mechanical engineering program, but I’ve taken a bunch of extra math courses over the summer and already have enough of them that I can get my minor in math. I’ve really enjoyed the engineering statistics courses and would like to get my masters in statistics so I can become a statistician. Is there any demand for a statistician with a mechanical background. I think there would be, but a lot of people I’ve talked who work for major manufacturing companies don’t even know if that have a statistics department. Does anyone have any information about pairing these two degrees?
