Is NYU a Difficult School To Get into for Film?

because thats a school that’s top on my list for film. That school and FSU. But I was wondering if it was hard to get into. I have a 3.7 GPA I currently finished of as a 9th Grader in High School.

Keep up the good GPA; no matter where you go, that will really help.

NYU is a tough school to get into, and their film school is popular, so expect a lot of competition from other kids looking to get in.

I don’t know what your chances are for a scholarship, but you should be aware that NYU is one of the most expensive schools to attend, and the university is spread around the city, mainly in Greenwich Village, and living expenses are ASTRONOMICAL, so money MUST be a big factor. Can your parents afford it? Be kind and considerate, especially if they support you, but will really be put under a strain if you go.

FSU is a great school as well, but I don’t know much about their film school. Look around the nation at film schools and I am sure you can find a number of great ones. Good luck!

NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts is VERY difficult to get into. But it really has almost nothing to do with your GPA, rather the portfolio you can put together and your recommendations. It helps if you contact the department and try to get any “ins” you possibly can. It is, after all, along with USC, one of the top film schools in the country. A really important factor is to be the type of student they’re looking for–but stand out. NYU, as opposed to other film schools, is very indie-style, artsy and liberal, not necessarily smash-hit blockbuster Hollywood.

Tisch will get five programs for each and every a million commencing. So it’s discouraging. This yr is also exceptional as a result of the worldwide financial drawback. If you’ll pay to your education, you can get approved seeing that such a lot of want monetary support..
