I grew up in Stockton, CA. San Joaquin Delta college’s training is unfastened there. All you pays for is books. there may be a capture or 2–including, you are able to could be a resident of California for no less than a pair years. while it contains Universities there, the common pupil can not have their training waived. I surely have heard that Texas pays on your college.

You would have to establish residency first, residency usually involves being in the state for a year or more, your son’s intent must be to make California his home by severing ties with his home state, this could mean registering to vote, finding employment, enrolling in a community college, getting a CA driver license/id, finding residency, etc. and he has to show financial independence (I’m assuming your not a CA resident or his father) – cannot be claimed on financial tax for two years preceeding the for which resident classification is being requested.
I had a friend who is from Oregon, who went to school in New York and then attend school in California, she stated that year prior she worked and attend community college, lived with a family relative. She gained residency the following year.

College is NOT free in California. If your son is worried about costs, then have him consider a community college first where costs are lower in addition to financial aid. I certainly hope your son isn’t simply looking for a free ride when millions work hard to support their educations with and without financial assistance.

College is definitely not free in California. In fact, it’s more expensive. Tell your son to apply for financial aid and student loans! Also, tell your son to check out this website

They give free money to students
Good Luck and you should let your son come to California….he’ll love it and I’m sure he will succeed and go far!

No, it’s not free but most of us do apply and qualify for Financial Aid which makes it cheaper for us to attend in California. And if your son is not a California resident he is has to pay out-of-state tuition which is very expensive.

college is never free unless you have a full scholarship or good financial aid. apply to all the scholarships you have a good chance at and you should be fine. go to UCLA, USC or UC Berkeley… it’s not free. try the other UC’s or maybe a cal state if youre a little strapped on money.

Not free. Rather expensive for non-residents. You must be a state resident for a full year for the in-state rates. That means living and working here, not a dependent.

I only wish college was free in California.
College isn’t free anywhere unless you get a full ride.
