It depends on the classes you are taking, the amount of credits, and how good you are with the material.
You will have to do most of the actual learning on your own. That mean you read the text and do any assignments on your own. The professors are not really there to keep you focused and on track. All the responsibility is on you.
Since you don’t really go to school everyday, you can spread out the time for school work. On an average day you should spend at the very least an hour per class. But that is unlikely to be the norm, I would think. May times you can go overnight doing work.

Well it honestly depends on the course load that you have. If you take 20 credit hours (that’s at least 4 courses at some schools) you’ll have to choose wisely. A typical day maybe that you have a 5 page English paper due, A test in biology, A test in college math, and presentation for computer class. Some days nothing is due except your there to take notes. So make sure you know when your deadlines are and be prepared for everything to come due at once. Also make sure you take time out to party, you don’t want to miss all the fun. Hope you enjoy your college career!

I think it depends on where you go to school…be warned though, college is HARD wherever you go. I’m a psych and wgs double major and I spend between 6-8 hours a day doing work, but only about 2-4 hours a day in class so it evens out. My school is awesome, but hyper-competitive, we have a lot of kids from east coast prep schools. A lot of my friends from back home only spend about 3-4 hours a day doing work. It also depends on your major(s) and/or minor…some degrees require more time than others. Don’t forget to have fun though….join groups and branch out even if you think it is something you would never take an interest in. Be prepared to sleep way less than you did in high school! 🙂

I would reccommend studying at least three or four hours a day, college isnt easy, nobody is going to make you study, you really need good study habits to make the best grades.
