If you end up w/ lower than a 2.0 GPA in college and get kicked out…?

what are your options? I decided to take a really hard major at my current college, and even though I NEVER partied once and studied a couple hours daily (studying 3-6 hours daily now), I might be kicked out by the end of the spring semester if I don’t bring my GPA up (I’m a sophomore w/ a 1.73 GPA). Also I think being depressed had an influence on my GPA as well. I would like to transfer to a college right near my house that is easier, but I don’t know if they will let me in w/ my current GPA. So if I don’t bring up my GPA, am I screwed? What options to I have? TIA

No, you won’t be kicked out at first. The college has to put you on “academic probation” first. This gives you time to get your GPA up. You mentioned that you may be kicked out at the end of the Spring semester, that gives you a while to bring your GPA up. Have you considered changing majors?

If you’re depressed and are not seeing a doctor, maybe you should give that thought. You could be perscribed medicines to make you feel better, and maybe that would help your GPA.

You could try applying to the school near your home. All colleges have to take a certain amount of students with a lower GPA. It looks good on the school if they take these students and the students have a complete turn around. I have a roommate with less than a 1.0, and our school accepted her as a transfer.

I hope you can pull your GPA back up! Good luck!

It’s only September! Why not transfer out for the Spring Semester at the school closer to home? Most schools don’t force you to stay for the whole year, not that I’ve heard of.

they put you on probabtion..the first semester then they kick you out.take easy classes next semester and hit the books.if your not doing well drop a class and take 4 classes and make it up in the summer.but you got to disipline yourself and keep up with the studying.study in the library…and tell your friends you go there because thats where all the hot chicks go.dont keep caving into peer pressure.

Probably your best option would be to go to a community college until you have raised your GPA sufficiently to get into another school.
