well you need to complete 130 credits to get a BA/BS usually the average class is 3 to 4 units. part time is less then 9 units. so that means that your gonna take 2 classes per semester which is 4 a year and thats 12 units. so it would take you a good 5 year+

Most college degrees are around 120-124 semester units. This is designed to be completed in 4 years by taking 15 units a semester (30 units a year). If you instead took 15 units a year, it would take you twice as long. For finance/accounting, this should not be a problem, but some majors like Biology or Foreign Language require large unit classes with labs/practicums that do not lend themselves to part time students.

The problem is people who take that long are more likely to quit (get a job, lose interest, get discouraged) so I think it would be wiser to do your lower division work and general education at a community college get an AA/S, then move onto a university. It is WAY cheaper, and if you end-up not completing a BA/S, you’ll still have A degree. Plus CC’s are more condusive to part time students. Maybe by the time you get to the upper division work you’ll be able to go to the university full time for those last 2 years.

Hope this helps!

It really depends on the number of credit hours you sign up for and if the college runs on semesters or quarters. If you can take 10 to 15 credit hours and you attend classes in the summer you should graduate in a little over 5 years with a bachelor’s degree. If your interested in doing online courses you can cut that time down dramatically because you can get a bachelor’s degree in about 3 years at some online schools. The only drawback with online instruction is that someone will not pull their own weight when doing a group project. An e-mail to the online instructor usually fixes that problem.

Depends on the university. But of standard two semester colleges. Their 4 years degrees required the 120 hours of course work.

It makes sense, because it usually takes 15 hrs/semester to get out in 4 years. So, part time would mean 11 hours or less a semester.

Just depends how much you take a semesters. You would always take a class during the summer to speed things up.

If you part time it will take tooo long! Generally if you take a full load, 12 units a quarter or semester, then you will be done in about 4 years. Take less than that and count on being in school for about 7-8.

It depends on how part-time you really want to go. In order to get a bachelor’s degree in four years, a student should take 16-18 credits per term. If you take half, it’ll take approximately eight years. But, you can shake it up. You can take 9 credits one term and 12 another. You’ll be able to work up to maybe a full-time load, if you get used to it.
