If i go to a 2 yr college and do my last 2 yrs at 4 yr school could i get n2 med school like Emory or UofMiami

I’m at a two yr college for my first year of school then i plan to transfer to a 4yr school majoring in biology and minoring in Spanish. Then i plan to go to medical school like University of Miami or Emory School or medicine or University of California at Los Angelos. I dont have the money to get an undergraduate degree at these prestigious schools yet so I must go to a state public school. I heard that you get first priority from graduating from that university then applying to the same univeristy’s medical school???

If you make exceptional grades both at the community college and the four year school and do well on the MCAT you should be fine. When you graduate your degree will be from the 4 year university. I don’t know about getting admission priority just because you did a lower degree from the same institution. I know someone who is earning their MPH from John Hopkins, but wold not dare apply to their medical school. I say follow your dreams and apply to multiple schools, if you don’t get into the “best” maybe you can get into one of the top 20 that’s still great!!!

Forget it. The competition is so stiff you’ll never make it. Unless you were in the top of your class in high school, and went to a 4 year college, you don’t stand a chance. So you can apply to medical school in some third world country like India or Trinidad.

Here’s a tip.

Don’t ask us. Go straight to the source.

Call the schools that you want to attend.

Ask to speak with an admissions counselor and tell them your plans.

By the way it’s “Los Angeles”
