I was wondering if I pretty much still have a chance to get into the University of Miami (In Florida!)?

I’m in the IB program this year (11th grade) and I’m taking some pretty difficult classes, such as AP Bio. And even though I’m doing pretty good with my grades this year (so far), the past two years in Pre-IB haven’t been too good…

(Freshman year I had like two D’s and a few C’s, and Sophomore year, I barely passed a math class, which counted as two grades, due to a terrible teacher!)

I’ve been told that University of Miami is a very difficult school to get into unless you have PERFECT grades in highschool, but I want to go to school for Sports Medicine, and I’ve always wanted to go to Miami.

With this said, I was wondering what are my chances of actually getting accepted?

Like I said, I’m in IB, I have plenty of extracurricular activities such as cheerleading and I run track, I do community service wit Key Club, and I’m pretty sure my SAT and ACT scores will be pretty good.

HELP ME! I guess I’m just pretty nervous about this whole college-thing…

Thanks!!!

If you want to go for sports medicine go to Purdue or University of Florida they are the top schools known for sports med. But if your heart is set on UM you should prolly do a year at BCC (Broward community college) if you do great as a freshmen like really work your butt off you will be a hurricane in no time

Most people don’t have perfect grades, your extracurricular activities reflect well and good SAT and ACT scores will help. Relax, take a deep breath and concentrate on the classes you have now……you can’t change the grades you already have anyway. Just because you have your heart set on a school doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t look into other school with sports medicine programs, Troy University has a good one.

No …No…& No. I suggest going somewhere like Tampa or further north of Miami like West Palm beach BECAUSE Miami is ghetto (sorry im just being honest) and if you dont know spanish you’ll be lost. What you see on TV or when you come to vacation here is a lot different than living here. If you trying to FOCUS on school Miami won’t help because all people do is party all night.
