I wanted to know if early admission/early decision is right for me or shoud i just do regular admission?

Here are my stats- i have about a 3.50 G.P.A currently. I have tooken all honor classes from 10th grade on. My SAT scores are pretty low, i have a 1300 out of 2400. I am taking 3 A.P. classes currently, A.P Calculus, A.P. biology, A.P. lit/english and taking A.P. psychology on the side because i couldn’t fit it into my schedule. I am most likely ranked top 10% of my class. I currently have over 150 community service hours. By the end of the year i should have about 400-500 hours. My extracircular activites include Interact Club(Vice President), NHS(National Honor Society), Chemathon(chemistry competiton at University of Maryland . I am in the Science Fair club which is a way to help us complete the science fair project. I am volunteering at a hospital, volunteer at school library and public. I plan on having many recomendations and a great essay. in computer video club and also if i want to get into the medical field(Pre-med) could i apply to any science department(is it possible).

Its a good idea if you are absolutely positive that you want to go to that specific school because it will higher your chances of getting in BUT if you have any doubts whatsoever or want to be able to choose once you get responses from other schools then dont because then you willl be stuck in a hard spot. It also doesnt guarantee acceptance I applied ED to Yale with a 4.2 a 2120 out of 2400 SAT a 31 ACT, volunteer hours 5s on 7 AP exams, sports, etc. and I still didnt get in soooo its still best to keep your options open even if you do ultimately decide to apply ED. GOOD LUCK!

Make sure you know the difference between early admission and early decision. You may want to compare financial aid packages between schools that you are accepted at and you can’t do that with early decision because it is binding. And dear? Tooken is not a word.

you should be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the school you appply to ED is the one you want to go to more than any other. if they let you in, you’re bound by a contract to go. if you’d like to be able to choose between colleges that accept you, apply during the regular admissions.
