I wanna be a vet But im confused about majors?
Favorite Answer
Vet schools don’t necessarily care about your specific major, they are more concerned with what specific courses your have taken (they all have pre-requisites that they require for you to study at their schools). Try to focus your coursework on those classes (usually in Biology, Chemistry and the like) and a specific major will make itself aparent to you.
When all else fails, as a faculty advisor from the Biology department for help, or a professor on the “Health Sciences Committee” (every four year university should have one).
Good Luck!
However, Only major in biology if you want to. Now days medical schools look for well rounded people and you can major in anything you like. As long as your GPA and MCAT Score is good you would get in to vet college. There are only 8 vet colleges in USA though so make sure you study study study even if that means not majoring in biology to keep your GPA up. I know people in medical schools who majored in political science, Health and nutrition and even one sociology major and every one know that sociology is a total jock major now days!
Good Luck.
