i took a year off of school and?

i graduated high school in may and decided to take a year off from school after i was already accepted to 6 colleges. i’m disappointed in myself that i did it and i want to go to college next year. i made a huge mistake. but i moved across the country and most colleges require letters from high school conselors… how would i do this? would i have to go to a community college first? how would i even get a transcript?

No, you don’t necessarily have to go with a CC first. All you have to do to get a transcript is to contact your high school office (I’m pretty sure that they have a phone, and probably even an email address *g*). It’s no big deal–just make sure you address the reason you took the year off in your essay and spin everything positively.

There’s nothing wrong with having taken a year off. If you got into six colleges the first time around, a year off is not going to make you look like a bad candidate. In fact, most of them will probably be happy to take you again. It might have been better if you had accepted and then officially applied to delay matriculation for a year, but it really shouldn’t be a problem.

i also graduated, and opted to not go to school right away, and regretted it afterward. But, what you can do is try to get in touch with your high school, call there, or maybe a parent of friend who still lives around there can see about getting them for you. The high school will usually just mail them or fax them, it’s a fairly easy process, and i don’t think you’ll have a problem. Also, you don’t need to go to a community college first, it usually does help, especially if you didn’t do well in school of if you don’t have scholarships, but it’s not necessary. And while getting your transcripts, you can also ask about a letter of recommendation, most teachers are more than willing to help out. Hope this helps, and good luck!!!

you can call you high school counselors, and they can mail a letter to you or they can mail a letter to the schools. Decide what school u want to go too, u do not have to go to a community college

call your high school conselors and get them to mail it or fax it, send them the mailing fee if you have to it should be inexpensive and call them everyday until they send it!
