I really want to be a male model!?
I have always been told I should model. My friends all found something their excited about and are going to college. I have always wanted to model. What steps should I take? Who is the best agency? Is there a agency that you can stay at..like in a dorm? Is trying to become a model a waste of time? Please help me!!

The modeling field is extremely competitive. If deciding to actively persue such a career, please be especially wary of ‘agents’ that ask for money upfront as that is basically a scam. There tends to be a high rejection rate in the modeling industry, and it can be quite depressing from what I’ve heard from tv interviews or such.

I agree with the other two posters: its a waste of time to do as a career. You are much better off going to school and doing modeling part time only. Like only in the summers. Most models dont make it big, but its good money for school. Modeling is a cut throat business with alot of letdowns if you ask me. I say its not something to want to do seriously.
I took a crack at it but decided I had more to offer the world than just my face. That is why I decided to do school fulltime, and if I had an opportunity to model I would only do it in the summer or just for fun. Nothing more than that.

Honestly, its a waste of time because its very unlikely you will be famous/rich off of it. I would suggest getting a good education and model on the side as a part time job. I know a lot of full time students who are part time models. They make a decent amount of money… but there is no room for progress in the career. Then, if you do get an opportunity to make it to the big time, you can decide what you value most in your life at that time.

Its a waste of time. Well I shouldn’t say that, but I do believe you want to have some set of skills later on in life. I would suggest go to a college and model part-time. If you get noticed and make it big, more power to you. If you don’t, at least you can use your education and find a decent job (good looking people tend to move up the ladder faster).
