I only have a 3.1 gpa and I am nervous that I won’t get into a college of my choice (in Virginia). Advice?
I am hoping to apply to Virginia tech, VCU, old dominion, JMU, christopher Newport, ANd Radford…. I really want to get into VA TECH or JMU, but i will be happy just to get into VCU. I am so nervous i feel like i will go to community college but i know its not true, just nerves..

If you are, it’s as if it boosts your SAT score about 300 points and ads .5 to your GPA

I knew people with GPAs close to yours who got into JMU, VCU and Old Dominion. Honestly, these schools are very easy to get into and aren’t that competitive. Virginia Tech might be out of your reach though, but I also knew some people with lower-end GPAs who went there as well. Good luck.

If your grades are not the best… you can improve your chances by participating in sports, extracurricular activities and volunteering.
