Business is a good field to get into, with excellent opportunities projected for the forseeable future. Social Science is a dead field for anyone who does not earn a Masters. You should consider Human Resource Management or any similar field. This is another great field to get into as far as job availability and advancement are concerned. I suggest you get on monster.com or your state/local job search sites to see the types of jobs currently available. The majority tend to be in the fields of finance, medical care, human resources and computer programming. If any of these fields sound interesting, you might want to consider one of them.

Economics.

Political Science.

History.

Interdisciplinary programs that incorporate any of the 3.

Translates well into a job in finance industry but are flexible enough to qualify for a variety of academic and professional graduate programs. Undergrad “Business” major is a joke. As an employer, I often find undergrads with a “business” background are the least desirable candidates. It’s better to specialize in a particular discipline and/or acquire substantial job experience and then earn an MBA.

1) talk with someone in your career center

2) talk with your adviser

3) most importantly, listen to yourself. Which classes have you enjoyed the most, gotten the best grades in, had the most fun in? Well if you want fun, enjoyment and good grades, the you only need to listen to yourself. A college major often has nothing to do with a career, but you can learn to read, write, think, speak, analyze, and all of the things that employers want in many majors.

Are you interested in people or things, in data or ideas. This is one way to get some direction.

None of us can tell you what you want to do for a major or a career in the future. I think your best option is to take entry level courses in the fields that interest you before the year is up, that way you can see what really peaked your interest.

Social Science is good. Maybe Psychology, or Business Administration.

I would go for Languages. Speaking more than one language can lead to very high paid jobs. You also get to travel and can get by in other Countries. This is my one regret (I didn’t take a language at GCSE level). Travel is the reason we exist!

You should take a career aptitude test, if you’re really not sure what you want to do. You should also work on punctuating your sentences and using capital letters where appropriate. I could barely read what you were asking, because it was just one long sentence.

I would ask a guidance counselor or a career counselor something that important and possibly life changing.

It is challenging, but it is very interesting and the career possibilities are endless.
