I need advice on colleges and liberal arts majoring advice.?

I’m a junior in high school but need advice on what a good school would be. Also, I want a career in journalism or a career where i do a lot of writing and working with people but i’m just not sure on majoring in a liberal arts degree or what. So, help would deeply be appreciated as well. Also, if anyone can give me any information on scholorships, that would also be deeply appreciated. Thank you.

If you want journalism, then you want Emerson College in Boston. They offer great print and broadcast journalism programs. They have the #1 college radio station in the country, WERS. And one of the best college newspapers too, The Berkeley Beacon.

As for scholarships, I suggest talking to your guidance councilor, or visiting http://www.fastweb.com

If you are looking for a good liberal arts school, the University of Dallas is a hidden gem. Few people know much about it, but it is a Catholic university nestled in the heart of the DFW metroplex. You can’t get a “liberal arts degree,” but the core curriculum is 2 years of intensive liberal arts studies, including the likely opportunity to spend a semester in Rome, Italy. There is a really good English program at UD which would be a great foundation for journalism or any other type of writing career.

UD also provides some really good scholarships, but it is a private school so without getting the best ones, it’s still more pricey than state schools (but most state schools don’t provide a liberal arts education).

A liberal arts degree sounds just fine. English, classics, journalism are all fine majors. You should look at both state universities and smaller liberal arts colleges.

Well, if you want to be a journalist, you might want to find out which schools offer majors in journalism and communications. For scholarship info, look up fastweb http://www.fastweb.com for private scholarships and also get a FAFSA form http://www.fafsa.ed.gov for government financial aid.

Columbia, if you can get in. That is the best of the best for journalism.
