They generally are in their mid-20s. Ph.D. students tend to be slightly older only for the fact that it takes longer to finish. That being said, there are people of all ages who are working on their Master’s or Doctorate’s.

Masters students can be as young as 22yrs and Phd students the same.
Usually about 23 or 24yrs for both but can go upto 48yrs without it looking odd as some people come back to uni after working in their industry for decades even.
The phd and masters degree is a way to rise up the ladder.

I don’t think there is even an average age for that. Anyone could graduate with a masters of phd at different age. I’ve seen some as old as 50 still studying Psyc101 during my first year in school.
