I’m interested in so many things!!?

I’m 17 and researching colleges/universities but i have a variety of interests and the only places that have them all are huge places, but i prefer a smaller setting. i have a good chance of getting in anywhere i want to go,but the problem is that i dont know where! here are my interests:

1)psychology(i prefer to major in that)

2)nutrition

3)advertising

4)animation(not actual using of computer, i mean more like character development- ive always wanted to work at Pixar, but getting a degree in animation doesnt mean I will work there, so it kinda makes me doubt studying that, plus, i want to do something that will assure me a stable-hopefully more than stable-paycheck)

going to a specialized place like MCAD could work for animation or even advertising, but not for a major in psych or a maybe a minor in nutrition! I guess I won’t figure out which of those 4 interests will be my focuses until i start classes:( anyone have suggestions of colleges with all of these interests?thanks!!

You sound a lot like a lot of my friends and acquaintances, too many choices. While on one hand I would like to encourage you to try them all, you run into the problem of large school vs small, plus something you have not mentioned, when are you going to find the time to do them all at once. I think you have reached a critical juncture. You need to make a decision and pick what you feel will be the best choice.

First cut is big school vs small school and it sounds like you have made that choice (small school), so go with it. Second cut is your major. It sounds like you have that, psychology. So now you have narrowed your choices.

If this is a narrow enough cut, apply to all of the schools on that short-list. If not, go to your third tier and I am not sure what that would be (other options for minors, facilities on campus, location of the campus, etc).

The key is you need to make a decision and that decision has got to be yours, with some input from your parents. You can get lots of suggestions from folks like me, but ultimately you know you the best and only you can make that tough decision.

As far as a stable pay check. That all depends on you. If you are a good self-starter (which you are, at least academically) then almost anything will work. As a best guess psychology will probably bring in the biggest pay check. Unfortunately, nothing in this life is guaranteed and little is stable, so go with your heart.

Also, there is nothing that says you cannot change course a year from now once you have been in school for a while if your tastes change. There is also grad school and post grad, and medical school, or what ever. You could become a professional student :>), though that does not have a stable paycheck.

properly, i’m answering a question published by skill of a meerkat, so i might say… confident. different than for that, i’m uncertain i might symbolize issues as unusual and interesting. that’s all greater variety of surreal.

Well, your 17

why not start off at a local junior college and take classes in all of them

some will appeal to you more than others.

at junior college the schools tend to be small and near home. they offer a variety of classes for a LOT cheaper than the larger colleges.
