I am determined to be a bridal consultant. Do you know any colleges that offer this so I can get qualified?

I already know everything there is to know about weddings, and have had some wedding planning experience already, but I want to earn some type of recognizable qualification. I live in Maryland, and I really don’t have the means to travel out of this tristate-area. Also, I would prefer not to go to a full 4 year college. Any ideas?

Look on line under bridal consultant training. See if there is one near you and check them out thoroughly before paying any money for the training. Ask for a list of graduates so you can speak to them personally and see if they are successful. Another thing you can do is to go to a successful bridal consultant and ask about training and how that person became a bridal consultant. She/he may be able to head you in the right direction. Good luck

I just saw a commercial for Ashton University that does Bridal Consulting Training from home on your own pace. Check their website and see if it they offer ‘certificates’ or ‘degrees’ for completion. I’m not that familiar with this school.

If you Google it, a bunch of listings come up, but there are different things you can select. Since you say you already know everything, then see what employers are asking for in your state.

I live in cali and attend a community college that offers classes in Special Event Management. I would suggesst classes like such, otherwise go to your community college and talk to the hospitality department professors they might have some ideas.

(International Special Event Society)

ISES certifies people in special event management; their website (ises.com) is a great resource for all event management needs. you can join as a student or as a professional but you have to be certified and if they feel you have questionable ethics they can pull your certification. Its almost a BBB of special evetns.

Look for a program that is “events management” or something more broad — I don’t know of any schools that specialize — you’d be better off with an internship
