How to not let someone cheat off you on a test?
ok my friend keeps telling me to put my paper close to him so he can have a look and copy my answers. The test is tommorow I keep saying No because the teacher will find out and bust us both. What should I do? I know all the stuff and want to focus on the test. Can someone help?

Maybe you can request to be seated somewhere else. When i have exams, the professor usually switches seats of people who are friends. I think if you are worried, tell the professor in private that the class seatings be changed during exam time.

When I had this problem I would write my answers very small in the margin, and make the answers on my sheet that were potentially visible to the friend incorrect (the first few ok, then when he isn’t reading questions anymore, change them). At the last 5 minutes of class, go back, and erase them all and fill the correct answers from your margin in too quickly for him to catch up. He won’t rely on other people’s papers anymore!

Arrive one minute before the test starts. By that time there probably won’t be two seats next to each other that are vacant.

tell him he can cheat off you but he has to turn his paper in before you so it doesnt look weird with you both going up at the same time then put all the wrong answers and wait for him to turn it in then change your answers he will never cheat off you again.

Tell him you can’t risk your academics like that, that you just won’t do it. Tell him, also, that if he tanks you will tutor him and can work together- if he doesn’t want that kind of help, he is a user. More likely, though, he will appreciate it and you will have done a really nice thing for him.

ask the teacher in confidence to move you
or just pretend to him you fdont know any of the answers, so he wont want them from you cos they be wrong anyway
