They’ll affect your overall GPA; but not your major GPA. Most schools will give a major GPA and an overall GPA. The Major GPA applies only to courses to your major. Your Minor will also give you a GPA for your Minor. If you know you’ll do poorly in your other classes, but excel in that particular Minor, then it may help boost your overall GPA (which is typically the most important).

Most colleges will have an additional line on your dipolma that states your minor… The department of my Minor was lazy or late and ended up just giving me an additional certificate in addition to my dipolma. This was at a large university in California.

WIth any of your studies, you should choose a major and/or minor that you have interest in. I chose my minor because of my interest and also I felt it would support my major and my career.

Minoring will factor into your GPA. All coursework you take for letter grade will factor into your GPA.

As for whether or not the minor shows up on your diploma or your transcript, that’s up to the individual school and how they document minors.

Check with you the Registrar’s Office at the college you’re attending. Normally Registrar’s Offices are responsible for grade, diploma and transcript processing so they would have the answer for you.

Best wishes!

All courses count towards your overall GPA. All upper-division courses (300’s, 400’s) count toward your upper-division GPA. Your college probably tracks the GPA seperately for each minor and major as well, and has requirements for all of the above.

Contact your college for info. about how it shows up on your diploma.
