it turned the economy into what was known as a manufacturing based ecomony. In todays market in America with all the labor shift going to foreign land it has now become a consumer based economy. In otherwwords the economy has shifted from what we produce(d) to what the consumer buys. Most of this has come about from corporate greed, high union pay scales and sending of manufacturing to cheap over seas labor from these aspects.

it spike manufacturing in america ex. textile mills, factories. this created higher foriegn trade with nations (exports) which increased the national wealth and economically stabalized the nation.
