Has anyone transfered to another college after….?

they’re freshman year.

I just want to know if its possible to go to another school after being a freshman in one school.

I want to transfer to another university as soon as possible…

So can anyone tell me if they have done this before?

Every school and state is different. In Georgia, I was able to transfer a few classes from Oregon toward my 2 yr. Associates degree. I went to a different University for my Bachelor of Business. Some of my credits were acceptable from my Associates degree, but only a few. A word of warning. Get your paper transcripts for everything you have completed and keep them! If you can, you may go to some of your professors to get recommendations-this can also help to show if you had a good standing. Most importantly, when a ed recruiter tells you he can get you finished in 2 years with a particular class load…get it in writing! You may need it to avoid excess classwork in the future. The Dean of your Department needs to sign off on it. Go in person to get it.

Yes…I transferred between my sophomore and junior year. Most universities require that you complete two years in their program to graduate (basically your upper levels in your major). You need to check into the individual colleges you are considering to find out what classes they will accept and which they wont. Sometimes your own college admissions office can help you out in this department.

Some things to consider are that some colleges have different prerequisites so you may find you need to take a class that you weren’t already supposed to take which can set you behind. Also, some courses may not be accepted in one college that might be in another. FOr instance, my American Lit classes were accepted at my university but a girl who transferred in the same semester had to take Lit again because hers weren’t. This is especially an issue where math is concerned…sometimes it is accepted and sometimes not.

Usually universities in the same general area accept most of your basic freshmen classes so you should be ok. The biggest concern is usually when you transfer to another state.

actually, i already did it, freshmen college. i just finished the 1st semester of the school year in one school, then the following semester i transfered to another school. up until now im still enrolled in the school where i transfered.

in our country it can be done.

but some schools here require you to repeat. meaning back to being freshmen.
