How can you get into law school if you are not a Political Science Major.?

I know you have to take the LSAT, but won’t you be unprepared for the material? So how do non law majors get into law school?

I didn’t go to law school, but I majored in English with the intent of doing so. Instead, I took the academia route and pursued a PhD. With that disclaimer, I’ll say this: Majoring in legal studies, or other such programs, won’t do much for you in law school. Major in a subject that requires a lot of reading, deep critical and analytical thinking skills, and a lot of writing. Your best bet is history, economics, or English/Communications. If you’re at the right school and have good professors, taking these courses will prepare your brain for law school and arm you with the critical writing skills you’ll need to succeed. Good luck!

Law schools accept students from a wide variety of undergraduate backgrounds. Lots of lawyers out there have something other than an Arts degree as their first degree (e.g. a B.Sc.)

Because law school courses are tort, crim law, civil procedure, contracts, con law, etc- not any poly sci courses there.
