How can i prepare for the first semester of law school?

You should read up a little on-line about briefing cases. While this is not a skill that you will use your entire law school career, it’s good to do at the beginning of law school so you’re not missing anything and you’re understanding what you’re reading. I actually learned how to book brief (briefing in the case books with different colored highlighters) and it was something I *did* do during the entirety of law school.
Book you should read: Law School Confidential (I read it and loved it–gives you the low down on how to handle assignments, networking, your parents/friends, finals, extra-cirricular activities, etc during your first year of law school)
Books you should *not* read: The Paper Chase (or see the movie), One L
Take this education seriously. A law degree is very marketable. You will discover that the law is whatever you can convince the jurist of how your use and interpretation of the variables presented in the present law are correct, and new law should be created that supports your presentation.
Good luck with everything.
