How can i own my car to campus for freshmen year?

Why dont certain colleges allow freshmen to park on campus?

Im going to college in a few days, and apparently Im not allowed to park on campus. I dont know what Im gonna do, because I have a job off campus and also I dont wanna be hanging around my college all the time. Is there anyway I can be allowed to bring my car? I mean, how am i gonna get to work?

Hi! I had a similar experience my freshman year of college. I don’t know what college you’re at, but most cities that have colleges are aware of the problem associated with freshmen not being able to park their cars on-campus, and the citizens who live or work around the school take advantage of this fact and sell parking spots in lots. I was lucky because the city I was in, sold parking spaces monthly, so I was actually able to get a cheaper deal than on-campus for a small walk away (approximately 5 minutes).

Check online for any parking lots that may be contracted in your city, and if you don’t find any, call the transportation services at your school and tell them that you’re new and confused and they might be able to give you some direction. You’re definitely not the only freshman who needs a car so he/she can work!

I hope this helps! If your school is close enough to your work, you may decide to take public transportation. Some cities have better buses/metro systems than others, so this may or may not be an option.

Good luck!
