Most advanced senior highschool art classes help prepare you for this, mine did. Contact the school by going to the website and find out when portfolio day is (the day you stand in line and show your portfolio with a rep from the school) and prepare your portfolio for then. Also see and ask what they are looking for in your portfolio. The fashion design major is very tough and competative so prepare for many late nights and long hours if you decide to go into that. ive seen tons of people go into it because of the glamourous stigma attached and leave crying half way into the semester, so make sure its something you have a passion for. Fashion merchandising on the other hand is a lot easier as far as projects and deadlines. Good luck!
