Is it true that if your parent works at a University you are applying to then you will get guaranteed admissions?admissions if your GPA is good? (a private university not public)

Some schools may do this, but it’s not generally true. It’s more common that if you are admitted, it will be free than that they guarantee admissions.

Nothing is guaranteed. It is likely though that if the university cannot decide whether or not to accept you or not (the “maybe” pile as I like to call it), the fact that you have a personal connection with the university would be enough to place you in the accepted pile.
