While I usually do not use this as a source, and given the lack of answers you have received (or have not received), here is a link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_engineering

You can also become a member of IEEE if your school offers it.

However, that link does mention mathematics. Software engineering is a step above programming, in that, you design flow charts and stuff to give to the programmer.

You would have to go to your school’s site, look at their cirrculum, and see what kind of math they require.

You will probably have to do some programming, how deep depends on your school.

Some math is needed for programming, some is not. It depends on the application to be designed.

You will learn program logic and design, which can be simple or hard depending on how familiar you are with computers already and the concept of logic.

This is a very specialized degree encompassing alot of cool things in one. Whether or not you can do it, I don’t know you so I cannot give that answer.

You would be limited on where you work because big companies and government will be your only clients. The small business sector will generally use readily-available applications.

Your job title may be Systems Analyst or something like that.

The money will be OK, but the higher you go in business the better you make.

If you decide to change your focus, you can email me and I’ll try to help you. I’m more technical in IT because I don’t have to have an IT degree to work where I have worked (government and private). But I always loved systems analysis and design.
