Hi, Major + Nursing?

How are you all? I was wondering if anyone is majoring in nursing? The reason I ask is the course heavily focused on with math, and science? I am thinking of changing my major. Thanks.

<---recently graduated and am now practicing RN. Science......YES Math .... NO YOu have to know some math, but even the people who are really horrible and you have no idea how they even got out of the third grade, not to mention high school are able to pass the math portion. Strength in science seemed to be the telltale subject as to how well people did in Nursing School. Those who did well in science had little if any trouble in Nursing. Those who had to repeat the prerequisites in the sciences or struggled to get C's in the sciences usually dropped out. Hope this isn't too dioscouraging, but I saw many people waste 2-3 years of their life struggling through nursing only to flunki out and switch majors later. The main science in nursing that is an absolute must at being proficient at is Pathophysiology. Take a look at one of those text books, available at your school library. If you are able to easily understand that book, you should do fine. If it seems like it is barely written in english and seems almost impossible, I would suggest switching your major.

I graduated from nursing; it is not heavily focused on math. Minimum requirement is Algebra 1. Science, however, is another story, as it focuses on behavioral, physical, and chemical sciences.
