The first two years of college are going to be filled with general education classes anyway, such as math and english. That gives you two years to decide through electives what you are interested in later on. Even if you do pick a major now, it is very likely that you will change within the next four years.

good luck!

First of all, I’d take a word study course to brush up on your spelling. The best schedule the first two years is to just get the basics out of the way. English, Humanities, Science, History, etc. Most schools have a required general education curriculum so if you work on that, once you get to college you’ll meet other people and be exposed more closely to other areas of study and that will help you DECIDE. Don’t stress out too much, most people today will change careers five times or more in their working life. Work hard, but don’t forget to enjoy the experience. good luck, peace

Honesty, you will want to know by your second semester in college. If you take classes for one major and then end up switching majors, you will have to take more classes and stay in school longer (which costs more money). Take a good hard look at yourself this summer. Think about what you enjoy – not necessarily what you enjoy studying, but what you enjoy doing. Don’t just think about careers that you think would make money. The truth is, there is money to be made in every field, but only by the people who are educated and knowledgeable in their field. So, what do you love to do…. for fun? It is incredible how you can take what you love doing for fun and study it and make it a career. Keep in mind that what you study will guide what you are going to be doing as a job for the rest of your life, even if you are not in the exact same job the whole time (which you won’t be). Also, once you get to college, take time to go through the college’s book of classes and majors offered. Looking through the class names and descriptions can help you zero in on what looks like fun to you. You have some time right now; at least you have already gotten into college. Way to go! Good luck.

This is very common, one of my best friends is feeling the same way.

The trick is to not put off school just because you don’t know your path.

Go to a community college and just take general education classes working towards your AA. As you experience life more an idea may pop up that you never thought of before!

Putting off school though is no good, I know because I’m 3 years out of high school and just now trying to get into college and it’s hard to do school again after you’re already been on your own and working and such for so many years :/

Best of Luck!

Don’t worry about deciding on this by the end of high school. It is okay to be undecided in your first few years of college. Take some elective courses from different areas to see what you like.

Well, what subjects are you good at? What did you get good grades in? I love History, that’s what I want to do in University and i’m only in Year 9!

If you want to attend college, then go for general studies. For your electives, you can select courses that you think will appeal to you. Don’t feel that you have to know what you want to do right away; the average adult changes jobs at least four times during thier lifetime.

I don’t know if they still do it, but when I was in my senior year we took a test that showed us where our strengths and weakness were and then we got a list of what kinds of jobs we would be good at. Maybe if your school does that you should ask to take this test.

If they don’t do it then you might be able to take one at your local unemployment office.

you can decide all those stuff later.

but i would rather have you try to figure out what field you want.

just make sure you apply to a school and get acccepted into something.
