It would be tough. Silver State Helicopters holds you hostage by letting you know, in no uncertain terms, that you are on a 18 month job interview. This way you must be very careful not to stand up for yourself as a customer.

SSH uses many unscrupulous tactics to get you in the door and signed on for $70K. They do not lie, but they are not truly forthcoming on certain facts. You would do better to get your own financing, either disbursed as you use it or put it in the bank and disburse it to the school yourself. Also, find a school which does not insist on holding the money themselves. Read the SSH contract carefully before making a decision. They are now enforcing an 18 month time limit in their contract. Think about that; They can not train folks in the 18 months they promise, then they hold it against the students? Many hokey things about these guys. Also, the fixed wing world has a higher income potential. Also, the military will train you for free; if you can not qualify for military aviation, do you think your employment prospects are going to be good even if you can get a license?
