Give me your HONEST opinion?

Is it a bad idea to leave a public university for a community college? I am on the dean’s list, however I have been having several issues with my family, and it is to the point that they are making me miserable. I’d rather not go into details. However, I am planning on leaving the university, taking my core classes at the community college and then enroll and finish my 2 yrs. at another university. Is this a bad idea?! I don’t want people to talk about me bc i decided to go to a community college.

In the end an education is an education. It doesn’t really matter how you obtain it. If you are not happy at home, then you won’t concentrate on school which is really what you need to do.

I would be careful, lots of people who do that end up not finishing anything at all. It’s really easy to loose focus in community college. It’s hard to get the classes you want, the classes are cheap so people end up not caring as much. They start to work while they’re in school and it becomes more of a priority than school. Basically they just loose sight of what’s important and end up never finishing anything.

It’s a good idea if you can make it work, but understand that a LOT of people think they can and then fizzle out. If you’re in a 4 year public university, 4 years is really not that long, I know it seems like it, but if you just bear with it and get down to business you’ll be done before you know it and you’ll be much happier in my oppinion.

Not at all. About 50% of my graduating class will be attending community college before university. It’s a wise choice because you can get all of you “bull sh*t” classes there, and then take your major at university, while saving you money. I can’t imagine anyone ever talking about your for going to community college. That’s ridiculous if they do.

It’s a great idea if its what you want. People always think that if you go from uni to college that its the worst thing to ever happen to you but its not. THere are some things that some colleges offer than universities don’t. Go for it. You ARE going back to uni so its not that bad.

This wouldn’t be a problem, unless you plan to follow a career path places a high importance on appearances or if you plan to go on to further studies which require preparation that this plan cannot provide.

A lot of people take the path you’re describing or one very like it, and I’ve never known any of them to have any problems because of it.

But none of them have have been shooting for law school, med school, or a snooty job either.
