Getting a job in Insurance?

Is it hard to get a job in insurance. I hear people talking about it not being hard getting a job in the insurance industry and that you can get one with almost any degree. My question is do you need a degree in insurance or finance to get a job as an insurance agent, or to work in claims, or underwriting etc? Can you get in with anything related to business?

BTW I know you need a Lisence to be an agent/broker.

I actually stumbled into the industry via a temp services company answering phones for an adjusting firm right after the 05 hurricane season in Florida. I am now an underwriter for a major Insurance company in Florida. I have an adjuster’s licens and also a degree that is not insurance related. Basically a license or a degree helps but like I doubt it if’s necessary. I would be smart get your certifications after you get into the industry and most companies will pay for them as part of job development.
