that is not true the UC’s will also look at your 1st semester GPA. although in the break down of importance your GPA for your junior year is the most important, then sophomore year. in terms of your senior year GPA it will not matter too much unless your GPA significantly increase or decrease (hopefully the former).

it is crucial that you maintain your GPA throughout your senior year. if there is a significant drop some colleges might reject you even though they have previously accepted you.

I don’t think so. The deadline to apply for UC (it’s in November this year if you don’t know) is usually before the 1st senior semester ends, so it just isn’t possible for your 1st senior grades to be on the application. But this doesn’t mean you should blow off your senior year because colleges usually want a final transcipt (but this isn’t what you’re worrying about). Don’t worry GPA isn’t everything. Just present yourself as best you can and hope for that big fat envelope to come. (however mine were skinny, so don’t get disappointed with that).

no they do not include your 1st semester senior years grades. They do however look at your SAT and SAT2 scores upto i believe december test date. But after you get accepted they do check to see that you maintain good grades in your senior year.
