I want to go to film school and study screenwriting. Anyone done this before? How long does it take to complete?

I know one film school that has one year for the Associate degree and then another year for the Bachelor degree, which totals 2 years.

It’s considered to be the best.

Have you heard of Full Sail? Although, it’s in Florida.

Here is the link to the school:

My friend went there and was very impressed.

It depends on your production. If it is a small production, it could take weeks to months. If it’s a blockbuster like your example, probably a year or two. Keep in mind that movie production including pre prodution, like planning and writing script, and also post production, which is editing and publish it, if you want to release it, you have to take time to distribute it. So probably 2 or 3 years to start from scratch to the point it is in theater.

Normal production of a professionally produced live action movie, barring production delay, is 9 to 18 months turn around, with 3 to 9 months for primary shooting. Most of the production time is taken up with pre and post production.
