Double major?

How do you get into a double major in college? Can you study business and medicine in a double major? Do you need really high grades in high school to study to majors in college?

It’s easy to declare a double major if it is in the same part of your university (Something within the business school like Management and Accounting) Business and medicine is a much tougher combination, but I know several doctors who have gone through med school and came to business school after for an EMBA (Executive MBA).

You do not need high grades in high school at all to declare two majors, but since you don’t declare your major(s) until mid-sophmore year of university, your college will probably want to see good grades in your freshmen year.

Hope I was helpful!

Medicine is a graduate degree, so you can’t have that as a major (although there are schools which have MBA/MD programs for graduate students) in a normal college undergraduate program. You can either apply to college as a double major or choose one and then add another when you are already at the university. You don’t need really high grades in high school to do a double major, but it does help if you had AP classes and completed a few of your general education classes before you went to college, since that will leave you with more room on your schedule to take classes of your choice, but it can be done even without that. Some majors are easier to combine than others. Some subject matters, like engineering, have a lot of requirements for the major and allow very few elective courses, which means that if you do a double major, it may take you more than four years to graduate. Other majors, with fewer required classes, may be easier to combine. You will probably have two advisors in college, who will help you to fit everything in.

What you have to do is declare a major in both fields that you are looking into. It’s best to consult advisorsn from each major to get a better idea about double majoring and what classes you’ll need to take. You should be able to double major in business and medicine but it’s better to double major in similar field but just talk to an advisor about your plans to get a better idea about what you’ll need to do. Plus you don’t need really high grades in high school to study a major because you don’t normally declare you’re major until the end of your sophomore year in college so by then your college grades determine the major you can go into.

In high school, I was an underachiever because my mother died and I used that as an excuse for my academic mediocrity. I attended a university where I declared a double major in business and pre-medicine so that I can redeem myself from mediocrity and to honor my mother’s memory. All you have to do is go to your assigned academic advisor and tell him/her about your career aspirations and that you want to declare a double major. Some universities will not allow it, and some will even allow a triple major. So, high school doesn’t really matter as much per se as long as you get accepted into the college and you take all the requirements needed.

Good luck in your post-secondary education! πŸ™‚

Double major is hardly possible especially two fields of subject you mentioned

It’s possible if you majoring in bussiness and your minor subject is political science, foreign language, …

Or you are a medical student, you have to follow the curriculum of medical school, so you’ll be a doctor, a phamacist, a nurse, …

If you’d like to have the degree in another field, enroll a master’s degree course or some certificates and diplomas

Good luck πŸ™‚
