Does knowing a lot of languages look good on a college application?

I know english, persian, and french fluently. I plan to start studying either italian or mandarin soon as well.

Would this catch the interest of a potential university or employer? I just realized that my love of learning languages may help in the future…

good grades is more important than how many languages you speak or your “proficiency” can you write all of those languages well, speak them, and use the grammar properly as if you were from that country? It really doesn’t matter, schools look more for your grades and the language you took in high school to see if you “know” something.

Just one foreign language would have made a $6000 (that would have been for 4 years) difference in my daughter’s financial aid package, that was all she was lacking. She received $17,500 per year for the $19,000 required fees. Many colleges require at least one course of a foreign language, which she was not aware of, now she will be taking one at the college.

Yes, of course it will. Don’t fail to mention that in your college apps.
