Does anyone know a good college/ university to become a therapist/ couselor?
I have decided to help out ppl. in the best way I can in becoming a therapist (not physical)/ couselor. I am in 10th grade and just now figured out what I want to be so I need all the help I can get on any colleges/ universities that can get me a degree in that field. Please I need all the help I can get.

Most counseling training takes place at the graduate level. This means that you would probably go through a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, then you would have to attend two more years of school for Counseling.
To make sure you go to a good school, find a college or university that has a Counseling program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

Also, talk to your school counselor about programs (universities) in your area. Ask the counselor for aptitude tests to make sure that you are suited for this type of work. Finally, requirements to become a therapist or mental health professional vary by state. Ask your school counselor if he or she knows what is required in the state where you live and where you plan to become a counselor.
