Parets obsessed with Harvard???

Actually, it is just my mom and she’s always obsessing over my application to Harvard. The truth is, I really do NOT want to go or even apply to Harvard. I think it’s a waste of money, but my mom has that mindset that going there will open soooo many doors. How do I convince her that i’m not going to go to Harvard and that she should get over it? I’m tired of her trying to push her dreams onto me. It’s stressful because now she is nagging me to finish the application, which i can’t put any effort into. I DON’T want to go to Harvard (not that i’ll get in anyway)

tell her that this should be your decision because its your future. there are plenty of other colleges/universities that “open doors” just find the one thats right for you

good luck 🙂

Ok, i understand your problem but i will have to tell you the truth. Im a proffesser at Harvard and it is a very very good law school and it has many many other courses than most universties. But it is difficult to get in and it does cost A LOT of money if you do not have good scholorships. I think your should tell her that you spoke with a proffessor from Harvard (which you have in a way) and tell her that i dont think it is right for you to go to this university and to try a local university.

Hope this helps,

Dr. Taylor

Since you are sure you will not get accepted, just apply, along with the schools you really want to go to.

My parents were like that with me too, they wanted me to be a doctor. I stopped feeling bad around age 18. They have their dreams and I have mine.

i suggest you choose the best school in your field and apply there — thats not necessarily harvard. its good to be a little stubborn in knowing what is best for you. your mom just wants whats best for you — just let her know that you are thinking about whats best for you too.

I think its very mature, responsible and intelligent of your part to be a critical thinker and decide where you want to go rather than letting others -or stereotypes- decide for you…

GOOD LUCK
