Do what you want in life.?

Whoever said that, came from a different time period. My question is, I’m 22, majoring in Business management because I have no earthly idea what I want to do, and my folks (who are financing my whole situation) are saying I need to finish and get out.

I like to read, write, I like to do research, to help people out.

I hate selling, I truly dislike managing people the way that people manage today (FASTER,MOVE! EXCEED!!!).

I’m an average student (3.3 GPA) from a small university in East Texas. One of my parents is living with cancer and the other is recovering from a massive inferior vena ceva surgery.

Where should I go? What should I do with my life?

You are above average if that is on a 4 pint scale. Business is a good field for making money but you still have to have experience to get your foot in the door with a good company. If you like research try sociology or psychology. You should be able to use a lot of your credits toward that degree. You can use is for teaching if you go into education and while teaching you can do research and go farther into the field.

I would say go slow and take your time, but it sounds like your home life is not all that it could be. This might not be the answer you’re looking for, but have you considered getting a job with a decent starting salary until you have enough money to start looking elsewhere? This may not sound realistic but since you’re a management major, you could perhaps work somewhere employing your skills for say, two years and then, after you’re comfortable enough leaving, do just that.

I’m living and certainly work by the sunshine reggae. Don’t hurry, don’t worry, take it easy. That’s actually a good thing. As long as you do your best to succeed, it’s good enough. No use to work yourself to death as long as the job is done with less effort.
