Do UC’s not expect D’s in A-G courses?

If I have D’s on my transcript as a part of my A-G Requirements, and still have greater then a 3.0 GPA, will UC reject me for those D’s?

Yes, they will accept you as long as you have higher than or equal to a 3.0 AND that you have completed the required courses:

Required units: 15 total

Electives 1

English 4

Foreign Language 2

History 2

Math 3

Science 2

Science Lab 2

(This is for UCLA. You should look at the other UC schools for your fit.)

As long as you have all those requirements fulfilled with the

A-G courses, the UC’s will still look at your application. For example, if you get C’s in 3 years of math, but one year, you got an F in Math, you have still fulfilled the 3 years of math. However, you CANNOT get a D or F in an English class, because a D or F is considered failing to UC schools.

i.e., just complete those requirements, AND maintain a 3.0

Wow…it was only A-F requirements when I went. Unfortunately, UC’s will NOT accept you if you have a D in a required course. at the UC level, a D is considered a failing grade. It needs to be a C or better and even that is pushing it…UC’s, especially competitive ones like Berkeley and UCLA. as the previous poster says, prefer A’s and B’s.

If the D is in a required course that you are counting towards your app (math, english, history, foreign language etc) , you should retake it in summer school or at a junior college.

you say UC’s like they are all the same. For one the d’s will not transfer and you are going against competitive students.. you basically don’t have a shot at UCBerkeley or UCLA but if you have 3.3+ you have a chance at some other UC’s. A couple D’s arent the end of the world, although chances are low for the extremely competitive ones.
