im going to be a sophomore in college and i have a 2.8 gpa. im looking to transfer my spring 2008 semester or my junior year (fall 2008)

All of those schools are reputable, but check with those schools if you haven’t already to see what their GPA requirements are for transfers.

Yes, all of them are good schools. Even for computer science. But I might suggest that your chances for transferring with a 2.8 gpa will be pretty remote…I know that at Illinois transferring in as a junior would probably require a 3.5+.

Um, you probably won’t get into any of those universities with your GPA. The average GPA for entering freshman at UF was a 4.0 and the average GPA for transfer students was a 3.8.

I know Ohio State and Georgia Tech have the same strict standards.

It really more about what you’ve learned, how well you’ve done and what experience you’ve picked up. The specific school isn’t very important when it comes down to it. What you should focus on is getting some intern experience and bring that GPA up a lot (you wouldn’t even get an interview here with a GPA less than 3.5).
