do trade schools really help jump start your career?
what are some good trade schools?
Favorite Answer
And you’re right to be suspicious of trade schools. Some of them have very bad reputations. In fact, often your local community college will have a better reputation with employers than your local trade school. But again, this depends on the trade, and the trade school.
As for what subject to study:
With a two year degree, your best chance of obtaining a strong job right after graduation is if you major in something directly related to an occupation. In fact, often the associates is your ticket into the profession. I’ll list only a few examples.
– Lots of careers in the medical field only require a 2-year degree. Nursing, radiology, medical assistant, physician’s assistant, laboratory technician, several others.
– Many office-related careers require an associates. Try office administration: administrative assistant, legal secretary, marketing assistant, sales operations.
– Information technology. There are some IT jobs that require only a 2-year degree, like computer support technician.
– Accounting: Also some in accounting, like accounts payable processor, claims administrator.
And here are a bunch of others, all of which hire directly out of associates programs (although for many, you’ll do an internship/apprenticeship while you get your associates)
-Automotive technology
-Electrician
-Childcare
-Engineering technician
-Funeral director
-Paralegal
-And a lot in the agricultural sciences, such as turf management (graduates of strong turfgrass management associates programs can work on a golfcourse and earn HUGE money), aboriculture, forestry, fruit tree management.
-Drafting
-Law enforcement
-Fire safety
-Plumber
-Welding
-CNC Machinist
In fact, in many locations, local employers will have links to their local community colleges. Some employers of in-demand positions, like CNC Machinst, will actually “sponsor” the program, in that they will support it both academically and in funding, and hire most of the graduates that it produces. You’d need to ask about any sorts of programs like this.
In general, I strongly recommend that you do a co-op, internship, part-time job or volunteer work in your field while you study. This will make it much more likely that you’ll actually get a job in your field when you graduate – unlike the friends you talk about. Most employers want entry-level candidates from either a training program or an associates program to have this type of experience.
I’ve attached a really good link on this topic. It deals with occupational outlooks for careers where an associates degree is the ticket in.
There is an old saying “I moved to hollywood” which means that you have dreams of being an A-list celebrity, but in reality means that you are probably scrubbing toilets at a restaurant in Hollywood while you try to break-through, eventually ending with your leaving Hollywood after a few years of disheartening unluckiness. The most important thing you can do is stay in school. Look into acting schools, and try to get into the most prestigious ones you can. From there, you can usually get an idea for what you would like to do, be it star in television shows, commercials, or even broadway musicals. While school is most important, your next most important thing is to get involved with your trade. Volunteer with your english classes, join your drama club. Do anything that will immerse you in acting. Don’t make the mistake of just dropping out and moving to Hollywood. That is a recipe for disaster.
Many new investors are lured to the appeal of a penny stock due to the low price and potential for rapid growth which may be as high as several hundred percent in a few days.
Similarly, severe loss can occur and many penny stocks lose all of their value in the long term.
Accordingly, the SEC warns that penny stocks are high risk investments and new investors should be aware of the risks involved but you can even make very big money. These risks include limited liquidity, lack of financial reporting, and fraud. A penny stock is a common stock that trades for less than $5 a share. While penny stocks generally are quoted over-the-counter, such as on the OTC Bulletin Board or in the Pink Sheets, they may also trade on securities exchanges, including foreign securities exchanges. In addition, penny stocks include the securities of certain private companies with no active trading market. Although a penny stock is said to be “thinly traded,” share volumes traded daily can be in the hundreds of millions for a sub-penny stock. Legitimate information on penny stock companies can be difficult to find and a stock can be easily manipulated.

if you are serious about trading you need to address your weakness and try to fix it. no forex guru can make you Professional trader unless you want to learn from your mistake.
