nope. have an mba but a serious personality disorder that has finally made me unemployable except for menial tasks. now i have heart trouble and cannot stand for long periods. use to think i was pretty smart and was being abused. but i finally got some help that broke down the denial. yep, i am a borderline with malignant narcississm just like mama. looking back, i see it now. when i get out of the halfway house i will at least have some freedom again. need a little shopping cart and a change of clothes and i will manage. just pray for good weather. my major? accounting and finance. took all those courses and then couldn’t get a real accounting job. tried this and that. hard to change even though i understand the nature of my warped personality. it starts early and just grows little by little and you cannot figure out what is wrong with everybody.

Indirectly, perhaps. I have a major in English and work in two libraries, a school library and a public library.

While a degree wasn’t necessary for either of these positions, it actually counted in my favor salary-wise for the school position. First time since I graduated in 1978 that the degree has actually counted for something financially.

I have a master’s degree in anthropology and I work in the mapping and archaeology field so yes, it did help me. However, my first job out of college had nothing to do with my degree.

I TOTALLY agree w/ Rick… I know a few people that have a degree & can’t get a job.
