It is possible but you would have to work a lot of overtime. Some chain pharmacist that work the night shift in 24 hour stores work seven 12 hour days in a row and have 7 days off and work overtime during their off days. They make over 150K but just about kill themselves doing it.

The median is $84,900. The highest 10% are over $109,850.

Those are 2004 census numbers so they are a little low for 2007. Future earnings predictions should be based upon the median and not extreme examples.

That said, some pharmacists are not just pharmacists, they’re also business owners. The owner of a successful pharmacy could earn far more than $150,000 per year but also takes the risk of losing more than $150,000 per year.

Some also follow careers in related areas such as sales or research where earnings can fluctuate widely.

The average retail pharmacist now makes about 100k. If you do a lot of overtime, it is possible.
