Did you go to community college before attending a University? Were you denied admission anywhere you applied?

I am just worried because I have to take some hard classes (for me) and I will be lucky if I get a C. I know they will bring my GPA down and I won’t be applying to any Universities with a 4.0

Yes, I did attend a community college before going on to earn my bachelors and masters degrees. I am currently working on my dissertation for my PhD. I didn’t apply to any schools to which I didn’t think I would get accepted. But most schools look at more than just GPA. They will look at the classes you’ve taken and how they will apply to your degree program. Community colleges are great places to start.

Good luck.

I took a few classes my senior year of high school at our local community college, but then I went on and got a four year degree at a University. I did not get denied admission to either school I applied to. If you want to pull up your GPA before applying to a university – keep taking classes at your community college. Chances are those classes will transfer just fine, and having the higher gpa will help you with admissions later.

If you’re having trouble in your classes, see if your school offers tutoring. a lot of community colleges will offer this for free.
